Thank You From the Fort Mill Care Center

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the Fort Mill Care Center during Lent. Our food donations weighed in at
880 pounds! This was just a little shy of our goal of 1/2 ton. Special thanks to Bob Griffin and Carol Snodgrass for
delivering & getting all that food weighed & shipped over to the Care Center!

I hope you all got as much out of giving during Lent as I did…we’ll try to do it again next year.

May the Lord Bless our home!

“They shall receive a blessing from the Lord…” Psalm 24:5

One of the joys that I have as a pastor is to bless a home. I’ve blessed the homes of young families, new couples, and single and retired people. Last year when I blessed the new home of a young couple in the parish, we moved from room to room asking that God pour out his blessing and be present with those who made their home in the house. In the living room, we prayed that they might be knit together as a family. In the kitchen, we asked God to bless the hands that prepared the meals and to give all grateful hearts for their daily bread. In the bedroom, we asked that the Lord would bless the family members as they slept and give them refreshment and strength to serve God daily. Continue reading ‘May the Lord Bless our home!’

Daily Prayer Strengthens Our Lives

Daily prayer is important for families, couples and individuals. Days may begin in the morning with common prayers. Prayers can be centered around the daily meals. Or prayers might be shared before bed time. Daily prayers help to form us in God’s image and they bind us together in community. Provided here are three forms of daily prayer – for morning, evening and bedtime. Use these resources to build up you life in Christ.

Reading God’s Word Daily

Another way to center our lives on God and to seek God’s blessings daily is to read and study the Word of God revealed in the Bible. When this is a daily discipline, the Lord will be with us to lead us in our daily lives. This discipline can be done in many different ways. There are devotional books designed to provide daily reading and meditations. You can choose a Book of the Bible – like the gospel of Matthew – and read straight through it.
