Flowering the Cross – Remember that on Easter morning we bring flowers to decorate a cross. This is a beautiful tradition in which we all share the joy of the risen Christ.
Lent Mite Box Offering – During Lent we have been collecting our coins for the Episcopal Relief and Development Fund’s Millennium Development Goals Inspiration Fund. This fund’s primary focus is to fight malaria and HIV/AIDS in developing countries. Please bring your offerings either in your mite box or you may place your gift in an E.R.D. offering envelope that can be found in the narthex. On Easter Sunday, you may place the boxes in a basket in the narthex. The envelopes may be placed in the offering plate.
In preparation for the joyful celebration of our Lord’s resurrection, Rev. Sally will be available for spiritual direction and/or the sacrament of reconciliation of the penitent (confession) on Saturday, March 22nd, from 9:30 AM – 12:00 NOON. She will be in her office.
The culmination of our spiritual journey of Lent is Holy Week. For the forty days of Lent we are made aware of our sinfulness and mortality. We listen for words of forgiveness, renewal and hope in the Holy Scriptures. We come to the communion rail seeking reconciliation and receiving grace. Then finally on Palm Sunday we begin the journey to the cross.
