The Bishop is coming!

Mark your calendars now. Bishop Henderson will be visiting St. Paul’s on Sunday, October 26th. When the Bishop visits, he will offer the sacrament of Confirmation. Through Confirmation people baptized as children make an adult affirmation of faith. It is also through Confirmation, that those from other denominations join the Episcopal Church.

Cursillo

“Cursillo” is a Spanish word meaning “short course”. A Christian Cursillo is a short course in Christianity. On a Cursillo weekend, participants explore the meaning of their faith. They hear others speak about their own faith and practical steps to grow in their practice and understanding of faith. Through a community of small groups, participants discuss these new insights and explore ways to implement them into life. Cursillo is also just fun.

New to St. Paul’s? Want to find out more about our parish? We will begin a Newcomer’s Class on Monday, August 11th, at 7:00PM. This is an opportunity to meet other people, to discover more about the Episcopal Church and to find out how to get more involved at St. Paul’s. Are you wondering how to use the Prayer Book? Do you want to know more people at coffee hour? Have you been hoping to find out how to become involved in one of our ministries? Well this is a wonderful opportunity to find our more.

Lambeth Conference Will Focus On Equipping Bishops For Mission

When the bishops of the Anglican Communion convene in Canterbury this summer for the 2008 Lambeth Conference, they will find a gathering differing in many ways from its predecessors and one that is intended to strengthen their sense of a shared Anglican identity and help to equip them for their roles as leaders in mission.
