The 10:30AM service is in need of more teams of ushers. It’s a great job – you get to greet everyone at the door, assist with the offertory and with worshippers coming to the communion rail, plus a few other tasks. Please consider serving a Sunday, and occasionally other special services. For more information, please talk with Otis and Lizann Lutz.

The newly formed Newcomer Welcoming Committee met recently to formulate some plans for helping to make visitors and newcomers to St. Paul’s feel more welcome and included in our parish family. We are looking for volunteers to serve as “Greeters” after the 10:30AM service on Sunday mornings to assist in insuring that visitors sign the guest book and find their way to coffee hour. Are you good with numbers and would like to fill an important role at St. Paul’s? The church is looking for someone to assume the Treasurer’s role. The primary responsibilities are paying bills, reconciling the Church’s bank accounts, and tracking contributions. The time commitment is about 2 – 3 hours per week to fulfill those responsibilities. It also involves attending the monthly Finance Committee meeting and occasional attendance at the Vestry meeting. If you think you might be interested or want learn more about what’s involved, please contact Ed Reuille (803-547-6559 or ereuille@comporium.net).

I thought this would be a good time to pass on to everyone what has been accomplished at the Care Center this past year.
In 2007 we received 3,769 clients and also had 262 new clients to add to our files. Out of our funds we spent $96,858 in utility assistance, $43,040 to help buy medicine, $12,118 toward rent to prevent a family from eviction and we spent an additional $19,490 in FEMA funds for the same purpose. A new volunteer to send important messages out on “Calling Post.” This is actually a very easy process, but we presently are utilizing one person to send out messages. We would like a couple of more people.
Please e-mail Betty Allegretti at bettyandjaya@yahoo.com or call her at 803-329-0552. Thanks for helping with this important part of our communication with fellow members of the congregation
