For a while it seemed like everyone I talked to told me about this great book called The Shack, by Wm. Paul Young. Now I will admit that I was skeptical. But I decided that I needed to read the book so that I knew what all the buzz was about. When I did I was intrigued and quite captivated. The Shack is a story about a father who struggles with grief following the murder of a child. In the midst of this grief, he meets someone who claims to be God. December can be a hectic month. We rush around looking for the right gift for the special people in our lives. We fill our calendars with school programs, holiday events, and social obligations. We spend hours (sometimes days) decorating the house inside and out. We cook, clean, and spend all the way up to the eve of December 24 and then in one day it’s all over.
